in general, programming adapters for radios are commonly used to connect radios to a computer for programming purposes. These adapters typically come with proprietary software or programming tools provided by the radio manufacturer. To obtain specific information about a programming adapter for the Philips PRM80 series radios, I would recommend reaching out to Philips or their authorized dealers for assistance. They should be able to provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding programming adapters for their radios.
Thanks for documenting your build Stephen. It certainly made my build simpler. With changing times it's even easier now with the FTDI serial to USB interfaces.

I've documented using a USB to serial adapter at [lance.conryclan.com].

Kind regards,
Lance

Thanks Lance. It's good to know that people are still using the old PRMs. I've got a few of them for 2m and 70cm sitting in a box somewhere. One day I'll get back to them hopefully and will use a USB to serial adapter for programming. I've still got the DB9 one somewhere. Cheers, Steve
