USB To RS232 Serial Adapter Dongle

Using ⅛" stereo plugs, sockets and cables is a convenient way of connection RS232 serial lines between PCs and micro-controllers. Here is a simple little dongle incorporating a USB-to TTL-serial module, a max2323 and an ⅛" stereo jack. TX and RX lines are configurable via jumpers.

Identify Components: You will need a USB to UART converter chip (such as the popular CP2102 or FT232RL), female RS232 connector, capacitors, resistors, and a USB connector.

Design the Circuit: Create a schematic diagram of the circuit, showing how the USB to UART converter chip connects to the RS232 connector. Include any necessary components like capacitors for stability and voltage regulation.
